David Barry, Partner at Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry, Appointed Vice-Chair of Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Committee at the NCBA

David Barry, a partner at the Mineola-based law firm of Collins Gann McCloskey & Barry, has been appointed as the Vice-Chair of the Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Committee at the Nassau County Bar Association, the nation’s largest suburban bar association.  David, who spearheads the firm’s Personal Injury division, concentrates his practice in working as an advocate on behalf of injury victims to get them the financial compensation they deserve, and throughout his career has been responsible for the recovery of hundreds of millions of dollars for his injured clients and their families.

The Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Committee is a group of plaintiff’s lawyers who regularly meet to discuss new developments in the field of personal injury law, provide CLE seminars to fellow lawyers and judges, and act as a liaison between members of the bar and the judges of Nassau County.

“I am truly honored to have been appointed as the Vice-Chair of this committee at the Nassau County Bar Association, and bring my experience in personal injury law to other attorneys here on Long Island,” David said.  “Nassau County is home to so many well-respected and talented practitioners who focus their efforts on representing injury victims, and the Justices presiding over accident cases in the Nassau County Supreme Court are second to none.  I look forward to building upon the great work done by the past Chairs of the Committee and to working with our current Chair, Ira Slavit, Esq., to build our membership and provide helpful, practical CLE seminars to members of the Association.”

In addition to this new NCBA Committee leadership role, David also serves as a member of the Nassau County Judiciary Committee, which oversees the screening of judicial candidates in the Nassau County Courts. He has been recognized multiple times as a “Rising Star” in the field of Personal Injury by New York Metro Super Lawyers – an honor received by less than 2.5% of the top up-and-coming attorneys in New York.  Additionally, the National Trial Lawyers has recognized David for membership into the “Top 40 Under 40” based upon his performance as an exceptional attorney. Most recently, Martindale-Hubbell® has rated David as a “Platinum Client Champion” and “AV Preeminent™” in the fields of Personal Injury, Torts and Toxic Torts— the highest accolades for legal abilities and ethical standards from the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell directory of lawyers.
